Custom Weld-Up Buildings in Granbury, TX

Weld-up means the metal is cut and welded together on your site. No bolt-together kit. Red-oxide primed metal, often called red iron in Texas, framed to fit your ground and your plans.

What is a weld-up building?

A weld-up building is a metal structure built on your property one piece at a time. Instead of a bolt-together kit that shows up in a box, the crew cuts metal frame members to fit, stands them up, and welds them together on site. The frame is red-oxide primed metal, which a lot of folks in Texas call red iron. Because every joint is made in the field, the building can follow your ground, your slab, and the way you actually use the space.

Leal's Welding & Construction builds weld-up buildings in Granbury and the towns around it. The same crew that welds the frame can pour the slab under it. Roof and siding go on after the frame, in sheet metal as the job calls for, so a building can stay open on the sides for hay and equipment or be closed in as a shop. If you can describe what you need to cover, we can talk through how to frame it.

How a job goes

Frame to finish

Four steps from bare ground to a finished metal building. Every project is different, so the details get settled when we talk through your plans.

  1. 1

    Layout, then slab or posts

We mark out where the building goes and set the footing it will stand on. That is a poured slab, or posts set in the ground, depending on the building and the site.

    Frame welded on site

Metal is cut to fit, stood up, and welded together where the building will live. Posts, beams and bracing all get tied in by hand, in the field.

  3. 3

    Roof and siding

Sheet metal goes on as the job calls for. Roof only for a carport, roof and walls for a closed-in shop, or somewhere in between.

Slab plus metal

Leal's is a concrete crew and a welding crew under one roof. That means the slab your building stands on and the metal frame above it come from the same people, on the same schedule, with nobody pointing at the other trade when something does not line up.

Questions

Weld-up building questions

What is the difference between a weld-up building and a bolt-together kit?

A weld-up building is cut and welded together on your site, so the frame is built to fit your lot and your plans. A bolt-together kit arrives as pre-made parts that get bolted up. Leal's Welding & Construction builds weld-up metal buildings in Granbury, TX, which gives us room to adjust the frame to the job as it goes.

What affects the price of a custom weld-up building?

Price depends on the footprint and height you want, how much of the building gets roof and siding, the ground and slab it stands on, and how easy the site is to reach. A carport costs less to frame than a closed-in shop. For a weld-up building in Granbury, we talk through your plans first, then give you a quote.

Can you add a cover onto my house or an existing building?

Yes. Lean-tos and covers tied into an existing building are part of our weld-up work around Granbury. We look at the wall or roofline the metal will attach to, then frame the cover to fit it. Photos of our attached porch covers and lean-tos are on this page, and we can talk through your setup before quoting.

Do you pour the slab for the building too?

Yes. Leal's does concrete and welding, so we can pour the slab and weld the metal building on it as one project in Granbury and nearby. If you already have a slab, tell us about it and we will look at whether the frame can go on it. You can also hire us for the pour alone.

What areas do you build weld-up buildings in?

We are based in Granbury, TX, and build custom weld-up buildings in Granbury, Weatherford, Stephenville, Cleburne, Glen Rose, Joshua and Fort Worth, plus the country in between. If your property is near one of those towns, send us the location and what you want covered, and we will tell you if we can take the job.
